Resources for Disabled Students

RDS Vision:  Students with disabilities have the opportunity to be successful in useable, equitable, inclusive and sustainable learning environments.

Resources for Disabled Students (RDS) recognizes that disability reflects diverse characteristics and experiences, and is an aspect of diversity integral to society. To that end, we collaborate with students, instructors, staff, and community members to create useable, equitable, inclusive and sustainable learning environments. RDS is also committed to supporting Colorado State University as a non-discriminating environment for qualified students with disabilities as mandated by Section 504 of the Rehabilitation Act of 1973 and the Americans with Disabilities Act of 1990 and its amendments.

The mission is fulfilled through three specific goals: to provide accommodation, awareness, and advocacy. These goals are to ensure equal access for all qualified students with disabilities.  All activities of RDS are related to fulfilling these goals in support of a campus environment that is not discriminatory based solely on the presence of a disability.  For more information on the history of RDS, click on RDS History.

As part of the Division of Student Affairs, RDS is also committed to fulfilling the goals and objectives of the Division in support of students and the university. RDS is affiliated with other Student Diversity Programs and Services that strive to create a multi-cultural, diverse and welcoming environment for all students. In addition to RDS, Student Diversity Programs and Services include:
